Melissa stood for the first time in over 24 hours. She even took a step. Then waves of nausea started to hit her. She is resting now. A huge feat for a first attempt. We will do this again in an hour.
Thanks for letting us all into such a private experience. Your family has been in my thoughts and prayers. I have never met Melissa and only know her through her blog, but there is something about that the gospel that really makes you feel close to a stranger. Maybe it's because we aren't strangers at all...we really are brothers and sisters and when one of us is down we want to lift each other up.
Keep taking those steps, the worst is over! Everyday will get better and better...
"In all of living, have much fun and laughter. Life is to be enjoyed, not just endured."
Gordon B. Hinckley
“It isn’t as bad as you sometimes think it is. It all works out. Don’t worry. I say that to myself every morning. It will all work out. Put your trust in God, and move forward with faith and confidence in the future. The Lord will not forsake us. He will not forsake us. If we will put our trust in Him, if we will pray to Him, if we will live worthy of His blessings, He will hear our prayers.”
