September 2012

School Begins:

Braden, 7th Grade

Hunter, 9th Grade and Megan, 11th Grade

Chase, 1st Grade and Addison, 2nd Grade

Which brings me to a new phase of life.  After 17 years of having a young child with me during the day, all the kids are in school full day.  It's a bit of a transition, since I absolutely love preschoolers, but it is rewarding to see them growing up and thriving.

Sports:

Another new phase:  All FIVE kids being in sports at the same time.  CRAZY!  There were some Saturdays that I had to send Megan to be a parent and to cheer, because we would have 3 games going on at the same time.

Megan and Hunter both did Cross Country this year.  I love this sport!  It is great because it is all about competing with themselves, and trying their best to improve their times throughout the season, which they both did.

Braden and Addison did football this year (pictures in previous post).  Football is INTENSE, but both of them had a great experience and lots of fun.

Chase had his soccer debut.  He loved it!  This picture is right after he made a goal.  His first game he made so many goals, they had to ask him to only pass and not try to score.

I had to include this picture, because we have so much fun at the High School football games, and Megs and her friends really get into the school spirit of it.

Homecoming:

I think I may have had as much fun as Megan.  First, I wanted to help her find a dress, but I was recovering from surgery and unable to go anywhere.  The stress of finding a dress that is cute, reasonably priced, and covers enough skin.  Two minutes online we found THE dress.  For the big night, she let me do her hair and makeup.  I was in heaven.  She went with her good friend, John.

And my personal favorite...

Doesn't this picture just make you want to sing "Kiss the Girl" from The Little Mermaid?  So cute!!!

I agree...that picture totally makes me think of Kiss the Girl.

It will be quite the transition when everyone is in school for me. You are handling this milestone with perfect grace.

Megan looked gorgeous for Homecoming!

I like the face paint on Megan's face. I'm going to make my high schooler copy that hand print on the face look. It looks really cool!
