Trip to Seattle:
In August we traveled up to Seattle to visit our extended families. Megan's best friend, Josie, got to come along with us because her parents were in London watching the Olympics. We were thrilled, because we need more girl power in our group.
We spent lots of time in downtown Seattle playing. We also spent LOTS of time watching the Olympics. I LOVE THE OLYMPICS.
We also went and saw the King Tut exhibit at the Science Center.
Farewell to 2 Meadow Lane:
My parents sold my childhood home. It needed to be done, but it has been so sad for me. It holds a lifetime of memories. I can still hold on to those without them still owning the house, I will just miss visiting 2 Meadow Lane. Like the dream address, it is my dream home. So another reason for the Seattle visit was to pay our final respects to the house.
There is waterfront property on Lake Washington, so we spent lots of time on the dock playing in the lake.
It makes me happy seeing my kids enjoying the dock like I did when I was their age.
This is me getting ready to go out in the boat in 1994 (most unflattering shorts on the planet).
This is the view of the Seattle skyline from my bedroom growing up.
We had to get lots of pictures in front of the door with the "2" on it.
And this is me with my brothers my sophomore year of High School. The door looks exactly the same.
There is a reason I L.O.V.E. this picture in front of the "2" Look at my cute little brothers looking through the glass on the left :)
This picture represents the 28 Thanksgivings we spent there.
Goodbye 2 Meadow Lane. You served us well!
Happy Anniversary:
Jesse and I celebrated our 18th Anniversary in August. Woo Hoo!!
Football:
Football season also started full force in August.
Both Braden and Addison played this year.
School started at the end of August, but I am refusing to post them, because I really feel like there should be NO school in August, so they are saved for September.
The latter part of August is a blur, because I had surgery and spent the time recuperating. But it was a wonderful August and I was sad to see the Summer leave.

Oh, Melissa. I cannot tell you how much I loved this post. The pictures from your past made my day.
Hey...those shorts from 1994 totally highlighted your tiny little waistline. Va va va voooom!
I never had a waistline...but I wore some hideous Jams shorts *shudder*
Awww...a momemt of silence for 2 Meadow Lane. It sounds so serene. I can see why it will be missed.
Happy 18th Anniversary!
I loved how you had old pictures of your home. I might have to say goodbye to my childhood home soon too. it's gotta be hard to make that break away.
Just think, we are creating "That home" right now in this neighborhood for our kids.
So sad to say goodbye to your house!! I have so many fun memories there with you. I can see why it would be really hard. I hate to think of the day my parents move out of our house.
I love your photos!! Happy memories of your cute family! And Happy Anniversary to you and Jesse!
First of all...Who DIDN'T own a pair of those unflattering shorts??!! I know I had a couple pair in my wardrobe. The flashback pictures were so awesome! Saying good bye to my house of eight years was hard, I can't even imagine 28 years! I'm glad you had some closure :)
