Some Enchanted Evening

Tonight was just one of those perfect nights.  My mom and brother rolled into town at about 5:00 on their way to Utah.  For dinner we had…

French dip sandwiches

Cantaloupe

Homemade potato chips

Afterwards we went to the park where the kids played in the ditch

After the park we went to Cold Stone

Where I was able to get my chocolate and peanut butter fix

2009-Q3 065

The kids were worn out and conked out early.

2009-Q3 002

It ended with a Scrabble game in which I got a seven-letter-word, which always makes the perfect game.

UPDATE:  I’ve gotten a few requests as to what my 7-letter-word was.  The word was…”STAVING”     pretty cool, huh?

It’s always fun for the kids when Grandma and their Uncle Jeffrey come into town.  They’ll spend the night and head out tomorrow, but we will take them when we can get them.

My family is big on scrabble, it has been the source of some serious contention but mostly fun...

Oh that looks so fun! It's the best when family comes to town. What a relaxing, fun evening. I love french dip sandwiches...great summer dinner. Jeffrey is so handsome! I haven't seen him in forever.

You may have read on our blog that we're moving to Seattle at the end of the month. Now I won't have to wait on those rare family visits - I'll get to see them all the time. I'm so excited!

Is that little Jeffrey?! He's so big! What a cute brother. How fun to be with Jeffrey and your mom. Your mom is so fun. You have the greatest parents. So glad you had the perfect night. Can you believe I've never played Scrabble? I've got to put that on my to-do list.

I can't believe you remember our silly baby talk we used to use and I also can't handle that you guys always say Happy Versary! That is our old stand-by! Still baby talking... just a little!
