Floating the Ditch

We live one block from a park. In this park there is a ditch that is filled with water every summer. My children love to float it. They were thrilled to go with their very adventurous, sextagenarian (a person in his or her 60's) Grandy. Is she a good sport or what?

Although fun, the ditch this year was EXTREMELY COLD. Can you tell by the look on Megan's face?

Today my children did their last float of the year. We'll be back floating in Summer of '09.

Yeah, i need to look up that word too. Although she looks like she could be that with all her mismatched clothes. But what a brave and fun grandma! And what brave kids to go yesterday when it wasn't super warm.

please refrain from using big words without the definition (note mindy's blog, how she knew we were stupid so she wrote it next to the word), especially when they sound like they could be "dirty" and it has a picture of your mother in law.

Okay, I guess I will have to define the word "sextagenarian" in my post. To clear up any confusion, the word "sextagenarian" means a person who is in his or her 60's. Sheeeeeesh!

How fun! We did this every year growing up at my grandparents' place. Great memories. Even in the frigid cold.

Good times! I remember doing that in DeMeyer when I was 9 or 10 years old (and floated it every summer until I graduated) and it was always cold! I remember where the old tire/rope swing was too. The joys of childhood!

Oh Melissa and Jesse - we love you guys and how fun is blogging to stay caught up with each other. Your family is so cute and the kids are so big - I still remember havingthe diaper party for you guys when you were pregnant with megan. Is she in YW now? Crazy!
Melissa - how are you since your surgery? Jesse's blogs about you were so sweet - I made Bart sit down and read them with me.
Where are you guys in Boise?
Well, I am glad that you found us and now we can stay in touch!
Love you guys - Heather and Bart
